From the moment I laid eyes on Panasonic’s CF-W5 Toughbook I was in heaven. Having previously owned a 17” 12lb laptop I constantly had to lug the thing around from place to place. But now working on Panasonic’s new ultra portable notebook, I am happy to say "Out with the old and in with the wonderfully new".

The Motorola RIZR Z3 by T-mobile is a lightweight, fairly priced, stylish device. Weighing in at just under four ounces, while still a slim phone, the RIZR Z3 is a bit sturdier then the RAZR phone. Its added thickness provides a greater sense of reliability, and its front sliding mechanism is trendy and makes the phone's options more readily available, but in doing so, it also leaves the face of the phone subject to the hazards of daily life.

The Kyocera Lingo M1000 is the first cell phone with a full QWERTY keyboard to be offered by Cricket. There are a few other features that I was impressed with like the “key lock” feature so when I slip it into my pocket it stays in the off position. It also has bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, a speaker phone and an alarm clock/stop watch with a count down timer. The design is really fun and modern, great for teenagers.

I enjoyed using the Commander Unit immensely. The device was sturdy, very comfortable and had a natural feel. It works extremely well with a notebook pc that lacks a number pad. The devise was easily recognized by my notebook running the XP window operating system. There are enough buttons to assign a multitude of commands, even for my most intensive RTS (Real Time Strategy) games.

T-Moblie's newest phone suffers a bit from being caught in the middle of the road a bit. As a phone, it is enormously powerful and maybe a bit too complex, and as a PDA, it is very slow and weak on features. Therefore, both previous PDA users and existing flip-phone users are likely to find something wrong with this device. For our purposes, we are going to consider the Dash to be a very powerful phone, with tons of features you can't find on any other phone, and a bit of learning curve to go with it.
